Patricia W. Haynes, a Certified Personnel Consultant, co-founded Commonwealth Personnel Consultants in 1985. It was one of the first female-owned and operated recruiting firms in the Richmond area.

The company quickly established an excellent reputation for its professionalism and commitment to outstanding service, and its client base multiplied. After three years in operation, CPC expanded and moved into new, larger quarters. After seven years, Pat Haynes bought out her partners to continue CPC, Inc. on her own.

Always forward-looking, the company became the first permanent placement agency in Richmond to offer computerized job searches. Having started its client base with manufacturing firms, CPC responded to the changing job market and diversified into financial services, banking, health care, high tech, biotech and even international business.
